CINCINNATI, Ohio -- The University of Cincinnati tennis team ran its win streak to four matches with a dominating, 7-0, win over Indianapolis University at the Queen City Racquet Club on Friday night. The Bearcats moved to 6-2 with the win, dropping only one set along the way.
UC lost only four games in winning all three doubles matches. Hannah Hinton and Jenny Rowen pitched an 8-0 shutout at No. 1, beating Lindsey Fischer and Ashley Liles. Valeriya Dandik and Alizee Paradis won, 8-1, at No. 2 and Rachel Owens and Elizabeth Young earned an 8-3 win at No. 3.
In singles action, only two players lost more than three games. Owens at No. 2 and Young at No. 6 both won by 6-1, 6-0 scores. Hinton won her fourth-straight match at No. 1, beating Lindsey Fischer, 6-2, 6-0. Dandik won by a 6-2, 6-1 score at No. 3 and Paradis beat Melanie Sullivan, 6-3, 6-3 at No. 4. The most competitve match came at No. 5, as Jenny Rowen topped Kristen Volz in a tie-breaker after splitting the first two sets.
The Bearcats next host BIG EAST foe West Virginia on Saturday, Feb. 24 at 4 p.m.
