ROSEMONT, Ill. - John Williamson scored 16 points, but Cincinnati turned the ball over 20 times on its way to a 58-45 setback at DePaul.
Wilson Chandler scored 14 points and had 10 rebounds to lead the Blue Demons.
Williamson netted 6-of-16 field goal tries and 4-of-7 from the charity stripe to lead all scorers. The Columbus, Ohio product finished with six rebounds in 37 minutes of play.
DePaul (17-12, 8-7 BIG EAST) opened the game with a 13-2 run to kickstart the game. Keith Butler's basket gave the host team a 15-5 lead with 12:43 left in the first half. Butler totaled six points during the span.
Cedric McGowan's lay-in with 3:46 to go in the opening frame cut the margin to seven, 25-18. The Blue Demons went on a 7-2 run, highlighted by Draelon Burns' 3-pointer with two seconds left in the first half to put the home side up 35-20 at the break. Burns finished the game with 11 points. Chandler totaled nine points in the first 20 minutes.
Cincinnati (10-18, 1-13 BIG EAST) did not score until Williamson made a free throw with 14:35 left in the game.
UC's Deonta Vaughn tallied eight points to go with six rebounds. McGowan finished with eight points and six boards off the bench. A starter in each of the last six games, Marvin Gentry collected seven points and six rebounds.
The Bearcats converted 9-of-12 free throw attempts on the afternoon and outrebounded the Blue Demons 43-35.
Cliff Clinkscales had a steal and then made a no-look pass to Chandler for a dunk to put DePaul ahead 48-29 with 7:01 left and then Clinkscales found Chandler for an alley-oop dunk making it 52-31.
