CINCINNATI, Ohio---For the second consecutive week, a member of the University of Cincinnati baseball team has been honored by the BIG EAST as sophomore Dan Osterbrock has been tabbed the league's pitcher of the week. The honor is the first of his career for Osterbrock.

Osterbrock (Cincinnati, Ohio/Colerain) earned the award after twirling a three-hit shutout against Dartmouth on Saturday. In the seven-inning outing, Osterbrock allowed just the three hits and three walks, while striking out five. The performance marked the third complete game of Osterbrock's career and his first-ever shutout.

This season, Osterbrock holds a 2-0 record and a 4.03 ERA. He has pitched 22.1 innings, striking out 20. The win over Dartmouth marks his second consecutive victory.

The award for Osterbrock comes on the heels of outfielder Tony Campana being named BIG EAST Player of the Week last week.

The Bearcats are back in action on Wednesday, traveling to Kentucky for a 4 p.m. match-up. The team is back at home March 9-11, hosting Cleveland State in a three-game set.
