CINCINNATI, Ohio -- Jared Micklos, former Rochester University assistant, has joined the University of Cincinnati men's soccer coaching staff in the same capacity.
"I am very excited about the opportunity to join the Bearcat family," Micklos said. "The future is bright at UC and I look forward to helping this team achieve the lofty goals set forth by the Department of Athletics."
Micklos, who spent three seasons with Rochester, including two as recruiting coordinator, helped the Yellowjackets to a 39-9-7 record during his tenure, reached two NCAA tournaments and achieved a top 10 national ranking in 2005. RU earned NSCAA Team Academic Awards in each of his seasons with the Yellowjackets and compiled the highest national team GPA across all divisions in 2004.
"We are extremely pleased to have Jared join our coaching staff," said head coach Hylton Dayes. He is not only an excellent coach but also a first class individual, who will represent the University and our program very well."
The Palatine, Ill., native earned a B.S. in Business Management and International Studies from Indiana University in 2002. While at IU, Micklos served as head coach of the university's women's soccer club, leading the Hoosiers to the Midwest Conference title and a spot in the national finals in 2002.
While at RU, Micklos coordinated the Rochester Elite Soccer Camp, with duties including marketing, registration, scheduling and curriculum development. H also served as head coach of the Rochester Jr. Rhinos U-16, leading the squad to an undefeated league season and the finals of the State Cup in 2005. He earned a master's degree in Administration from Rochester in 2006.
Micklos holds the NSCAA Advanced National Diploma and the United States Soccer Federation `B' License.
