"I am pleased that our swimmers and divers continue to do so well academically," said head coach Monty Hopkins. "These outstanding results are a credit to the individual efforts of the athletes and reflect the commitment to academic success of our swimmers and divers."
The men's team held a 3.243 team grade point average, buoyed by UC's Fall Scholar Athlete of the Quarter Marcel Kleiner, who accumulated a perfect 4.0 GPA. The men's team, one of 63 schools across the country to earn Academic All-American Team honors, posted the ninth-best GPA in the nation.
UC's women, boosted by Kristen Funk's perfect 4.0, posted a 3.21 team GPA, which ranked 49th nationally. Over 90 women's teams earned Academic All-American team honors.
The CSCAA awarded 335 Academic All-American Team honors to 221 schools.
