    Hein is ranked No. 4 in the nation heading into the meet, with a 6' 1-1/2" clearance. Three weeks ago, the native and Mother of Mercy graduate set the BIG EAST high jump record with a 6' 0-3/4" leap, winning the conference title. She competed in the high jump in six meets this season, winning five and finishing second in the other. She has held the school record in the high jump for three seasons.

    Hein is making her third NCAA Championship appearance after competing in the high jump at the 2005 and 2006 Outdoor Championships, becoming the first female track and field athlete in school history to participate in the NCAA Championships more than once.

    The meet kicks off on Friday morning with the heptathlon and pentathlon. The women's high jump finals begin at 2:30 p.m. on Friday in the on the campus of the .
