, -- The University of Cincinnati women's tennis team cruised past , 7-0, in BIG EAST tennis action Friday afternoon (March 9) in The Bearcats improved to 8-4 overall and 2-2 in teh BIG EAST. UC has won six of its last eight matches.
Senior Hannah Hinton got things started with a dominating 6-0, 6-1 win against Meghan Gilroy. Rachel Owens followed with an easy 6-1, 6-0 victory against Ashley Rissolo.
PC's Kerry Shulz forced UC's Valeriya Dandick to extra games in the first set, 7-5, before rolling, 6-1, to take the match.
Alizee Paradis defeated Allison Cohen, 6-1, 6-2, followed by a 6-3, 6-0 win by Jenny Rowen against Jen Cusack.
Elizabeth Young wrapped up singles play with a 6-3, 6-3 win against PC's Kate Lyons.
The Bearcats swept doubles play to earn the 7-0 win. Hinton and Paradis topped Rissolo and Cohen, 8-2, in the top doubles match. The doubles teams of Dandick and Owens and Madison Reasoner and Jennifer Keiner captured were also 8-2 winners.
Keiner and Reasoner were both winners in singles exhibition action, while Jenny Rowen and Elizabeth Young won in a doubles exhibition.
UC has a few weeks off to prepare for BIG EAST foe on March 30 at the Queen City Racquet Club.
