CINCINNATI, Ohio - Jenn Johannigman scored a pair of goals to lead the University of Cincinnati women's soccer team to a 4-1 win against Canadian club team Erin Mills on Friday (March 9) at Gettler Stadium.
Johannigman tallied UC's first goal on a half-volley in the first half. Lisa Clark scored from 18 yards out moments later after a Tricia Gardner throw-in to give the Bearcats a 2-0 halfitme lead.
Johannigman added to the lead in the second half. Clark fed a through ball to Chelsea Kindschuh, who centered a cross onto the foot of Johannigman. The diminutive striker went back post to give UC a 3-0 lead.
Kindschuh put the finishing touches on the match after taking a Nicole Sanda pass behind the defense and beating the Erin Mills keeper low left for a 4-0 margin.
The Eagles of Erin Mills got on the board in the final five minutes when Leah Frazer beat UC keeper Brittney Hansen.
UC's Melissa Bigg is a former member of the Erin Mills Soccer Club.
The Bearcats take on Indiana in the Kick for the Cure Tournament in Fort Wayne, Ind. on March 31.
