Round One Results

AVON, Ind.---Fresh off a win yesterday at the LaRosa's Collegiate Cup, the University of Cincinnati men's golf team is in position to make it two in a row as the Bearcats lead the Butler Spring Invitational through one day of play. In addition, Joe Young, the individual medalist at the LaRosa's Cup, is leading the individual standings.

Young, who captured the second tournament title of his career over the weekend, holds a two-shot lead after shooting a 70 on Monday. The senior from Geneva, Ill. is also the defending champion of the Butler Invitational.

Sophomore Paul Marshall is also in contention for the win as he is one of three golfers tied for third, just three shots off the pace.

The Bearcats finished with a team total of 300 on Monday, two shots better than second place Indianapolis. UC is also the defending champion of the tournament.

The tournament will conclude on Tuesday with the final 18 holes of play.
