AVON, Ind.---Behind a seventh place finish from sophomore Albert Fernandez, the University of Cincinnati men's golf team captured third place at the Butler Invitational, which concluded on Tuesday at the Prestwick Country Club. It should be noted that the results reported on Monday night were incorrect.

Fernandez carded rounds of 74 and 75 to tally his second top-10 finish of the season. His combined score of 149 missed a tie for third by just two shots.

In the team standings, UC which held second place after round one, slipped to a score of 307 on Tuesday to finish third. Cleveland State took the team title with a score of 588, 14 shots better than Oakland.

Paul Marshall recorded the best round of the tournament for UC, shooting a 73 during the opening round. He finished tied for 13th at 153, along with teammate Joe Young.

The Bearcats are back in action March 30-31, taking part in the Eastern Kentucky Spring Invitational in Richmond, Ky.
