CRYSTAL RIVER, Fla.---Junior Hillery Wilson shot an opening round 75 and sits just one shot off of the lead after the opening round of the Cincinnati Spring Invitational. The two-day, 36-hole tournament is being held at the Plantation Inn Golf Course in Crystal River, Fla.
Wilson, ranked 188th in the nation by Golfweek, is just one shot behind Illinois' Seul Ki Park (ranked 434th) as she fights for the eighth tournament title of her career. Trailing Wilson for Cincinnati is sophomore Marianne Erb whose opening round 78 leaves her tied for 11th.
The battle for the team title is a tight one, with the top-four teams separated by just four shots. Middle Tennessee State is on top with a score of 309, one shot better than Princeton. The Bearcats hold down fourth, one shot behind Florida Atlantic.
The tournament will conclude with the final 18 holes on Saturday.
