CINCINNATI, Ohio -- The University of Cincinnati will begin its 2007 Spring Football schedule on Tuesday, March 27. It marks the first time since the International Bowl championship on January 6, that Head Coach Brian Kelly and the Bearcats have been on the gridiron.

Boasting a 1-0 record as leader of the Bearcats, Kelly will welcome more than 90 players and his full complement of assistant coaches to his first UC Spring season when the Bearcats take the Nippert Stadium field for practice.

The players will be involved in a series of meetings on Tuesday afternoon before their first practice gets underway at 3:15 p.m. The pace of practice will be up-tempo as Kelly and his coaching staff, prepare the Bearcats for their first circuit through the BIG EAST Conference.

"It's a pretty intense two hours," Kelly commented. "There's not a lot of conversation on the field. It will be 24 five-minute periods, get the work done and get off the field."

UC touts 15 starters and 53 letterwinners returning from the 2006 squad that finished 8-5 overall and 4-3 in the BIG EAST.

Tuesday's practice is the first of 15 permissible by the NCAA during the spring season. They add full pads to the mix in time for the third workout of the nontraditional season.

All practices will be open to the public and media.

BEARCAT BOWL, a regular, 60-minute football game, caps off the spring for UC on April 21. CATTITUDE on Sheakley Lawn will commence at 5:30 p.m. with a cookout and interactive activities for young and old. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
