CINCINNATI, Ohio--With temperatures in the low-80s, first-year head coach Brian Kelly sent his University of Cincinnati football team through a its workout on Tuesday, March 27, as the Bearcats opened spring drills. More than 90 players - wearing shorts, jerseys and helmets - participated in the first of 15 practices.
"It was more like summer than the first day of spring at practice today," stated Kelly. "Our coaching staff will continue to teach and this group will grow."
The Bearcats had a little extra bounce in their step, as they enjoyed 81-degree weather at Nippert Stadium this afternoon.
"We plan two hours for practice. Our plan is to be efficient and you saw that when we finished five minutes early today. We want to get our work done and get off the field. That's how we manage our football team."
UC's gridders return to Nippert Stadium for their second practice of the spring period on Wednesday at 3:15 p.m.
