CINCINNATI, Ohio -- The Bearcats tennis team fell to rival Louisville, 6-1, in BIG EAST action at the Queen City Racquet Club on Saturday evening. The loss dropped UC to 6-4 on the year and 1-2 against league foes.
Freshman Rachel Owens and sophomore Elizabeth Young teamed at No. 3 doubles to beat Natalie Laszkowski and Jo-Ann Van Aerde, 8-4. The Cards took the other two matches, however, to earn the point.
UL dominated the singles matches, winning five in straight-sets, dropping more than four games in just one of those. Hannah Hinton took Lauren Imre to a first-set tie-breaker at the No. 1 spot before falling 6-1 in the second. Owens posted UC's only win, beating Robyn White at No. 2, 6-2, 6-4.
The Bearcats host UNC Wilmington on Sunday at 4:30 p.m.
