OXFORD, Ohio---Hillery Wilson shot an opening round 73 and holds a two-shot lead after one round of the UC Women's Spring Invitational. The tournament is being held at the Hueston Woods Golf Course just outside of Oxford.
Wilson's play has helped the Bearcats to second place in the team standings, trailing only Detroit. Cincinnati finished Monday's play with a team score of 314, just one shot behind the Titans. Detroit's Rachel McHenry and Ball State's Amy Roberts are in a tie for second with identical scores of 75.
Senior Sarah Bires and sophomore Sarah Stamper both find themselves in the top-10, sharing the 10th position after opening round scores of 80. The duo trails the top-five by just three shots.
Play wraps up at Hueston Woods on Tuesday, with the first women's players teeing off at 11:03 a.m. The tournament is being held in conjunction with the UC Men's Spring Invitational.
