CINCINNATI, Ohio-- With a chill in the air, the University of Cincinnati football squad scrimmaged for more than 50 plays on Friday afternoon. On the first Friday of April, plenty passes wove their way through a steel gray sky at Nippert Stadium.

"For me, it's all about getting the team in a game setting," said head coach Brian Kelly. "We want to be able to find the answers to key questions. Who can make plays and who can we count on?"

Having completed seven of the 15 allowable Spring practices, Kelly and his assistant coaches are approaching the midway point of the spring calendar. The primary objective with the final two weeks is to continue to evaluate individual performances.

"Of course we are installing a new playbook and we are continuing to add to that, but we are also watching plenty of tape after each practice," Kelly commented. "We are not only looking for people who can make plays, but we are also trying to find anybody who can make other players better."

The Bearcats return to practice on Monday afternoon.
