LEXINGTON, Ky.--The University of Cincinnati women's tennis team measured itself against No. 28 Kentucky, but dropped a 7-0 decision at the Boone Tennis Center.

The loss moved the Bearcats to 10-7 while the Wildcats go to 17-5 on the season.

After dropping the first set to Christine Johnston, Alizee Paradis came back to take the second set 6-2. Paradis carried the momentum into a tiebreaker, but lost a heartbreaker 10-8.

Rachel Owens continued her stellar play, but could not overcome sarah Woestmann, falling 7-5, 6-1. Hannah Hinton lost to Kim Coventry 6-1, 6-1. Valeriya Dandik proved tough competition, but dropped a 6-4, 6-0 decision to Whitney Spencer.

Jenny Rowen fell 6-0, 6-0 and Elizabeth Young lost 6-2, 6-1. UC was dealt three one-sided defeats in doubles play.

Cincinnati returns to action this weekend to play three crucial BIG EAST Conference matches. On Friday at 1 p.m., UC travels to Seton Hall. It continues its final weekend of regular season competition on Saturday with an 11 a.m. tilt against Connecticut. On Sunday, Cincinnati concludes the regular season schedule against St. John's at 10 a.m.
