When did you decide to play football?
My dad wouldn't let me play football until I entered the seventh grade. I was over the weight limit of 155 pounds, so I didn't get to play football until I was a freshman in high school.
With a father who played guard for the Cincinnati Bengals, did you always know you were going to be a lineman?
Not really. I tried out for quarterback for the freshman team at Elder. The coaches moved me and I played tight end all year.
Have you ever wanted to play a different sport other than football?
I played both baseball and basketball in high school. Baseball is one of my favorite sports.
How did you get the nickname Digger?
From the time I was born, I have always had large feet. My Grandpa Vogel and my mom gave me the name Digger. Today, I wear a size 17 in cleat and my comfortable shoes are size 18. I always prefer to wear sandals.
Where is your favorite place to hang out on campus?
I would have to say Nippert Stadium. When I am on the football field, I just think about football. It allows me to take my mind off others things going on in my world.
Where is your favorite place to hang out in Cincinnati?
My family's restaurant Booj's Skinless Chicken in the White Oak Shopping Center.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
Fishing and playing cornhole. I enjoy hanging out with the other offensive linemen.
Who is your role model(s) and why?
I would say my parents. Both of them have taught me a great deal about discipline and being as smart as possible. They are always teaching.
