CINCINNATI, Ohio -- The University of Cincinnati women's soccer team scored a pair of 2-0 wins at chilly, rainy Gettler Stadium on Saturday, April 14. UC moves to 4-2-1 during the spring season with shutout wins against Youngstown State and Eastern Kentucky as part of the Bearcat Classic.

In the first match of the day, Kim Sykes got UC on the board and Melissa Bigg put the match away against YSU.

The Penguins then took on Eastern Kentucky, earning a 1-0 win in the day's second matchup.

UC put a cap on the festivities with a 2-0 blanking of EKU. Jenn Johannigman opened the scoring for UC about 10 minutes into the first half. Nicole Sanda sealed the win in the second stanza.

UC controlled possession in both matches and have now outscored opponents, 11-7, this spring.

The Bearcats will travel across town to take on Xavier in the Blue Chip Showcase on April 21 at the Xavier Soccer Complex.
