QUEENS, N.Y.-- Fueled by five singles wins, the University of Cincinnati women's tennis team wrapped up its regular season with a 5-1 triumph at St. John's. The victory was the second league triumph of the weekend for UC.

Cincinnati (12-8, 5-4 BIG EAST) won five of six singles bouts. With inclement weather on the horizon, UC did not need to play for the doubles point.

The Bearcats' Rachel Owens needed to grind out a three-set victory over Alison Adamski, 6-1, 4-6, 6-4. Valeriya Dandik continued the momentum with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Lauren Leo. Jenny Rowen topped Gabija Gasiumaite 6-4, 7-5. Alizee Paradis triumphed 6-1, 7-5 over Ashley Harper. With St. John's using an incomplete lineup, Elizabeth Young won by default.

The lone win for St. John's (7-9, 3-5 BIG EAST) came by way of Nataly Tumsevica's 6-1, 6-2 decision over Cincinnati's Hannah Hinton.

The Bearcats return to action on Thursday, April 19 when they play in the BIG EAST Tournament on the campus of USF.
