Hillery Wilson finished seventh in the BIG EAST.


LOUISVILLE, Ky.---Juniors Hillery Wilson and Allison Mayborg both finished in the top-10, earning each player All-BIG EAST honors, as the 2007 BIG EAST Women's Golf Championship concluded on Tuesday. Wilson finished seventh in the final order, while Mayborg tallied a ninth place finish.

Wilson, who ended round one in 15th place, steadily moved through the rankings during the balance of the tournament, finishing it off with a final round 73 to take seventh place at 227. Mayborg stayed in the top-10 from start to finish of the event, carding a 76 on Tuesday to finish in the ninth position with a total of 229. The all-conference accolade is the second for Wilson who earned a berth on the Conference USA squad in 2005, and the first for Mayborg.

As a team, UC mantained its fifth place position during the finale, shooting a final round 307 for its best mark of the event. The Bearcats finished just eight shots behind fourth place Georgetown. Notre Dame and Louisville finished the day in a deadlock at the top of the standings with scores of 891, with the Cardinals taking the championship in sudden death play.

Senior Sarah Bires closed out her collegiate career with a round of 77 to earn a finish of 19th. Louisville's Cindy LaCrosse was the individual medalist, winning by two shots over teammate Adrienne White with a score of 213.
