- A pair of NSCAA/adidas High School All-Americans and a Junior College All-American highlight the six-member 2007 men's soccer recruiting class. Isiah Castro, Mike Hnat, Miguel Rosales, Branden Stelmak, Scott Stockum and Matt Telting will join the defending BIG EAST Red Division Champions to continue their academic and athletic careers in the fall.

"This is a very balanced and talented recruiting class that will fill many of our needs," head coach Hylton Dayes said. "Each one of these student-athletes comes from successful programs and will fit in well with our team goals and program philosophy."

Castro, a 6-0 goalkeeper from , Ca., earned first-team all-county and second-team all-league honors as a senior at . He posted 13 shutouts and 1.00 goals against average as a senior and helped to four consecutive league championships. Castro also earned varsity letters in track and field and tennis. The son of Robert and Taraina Castro, he plans to major in English.

Hnat, a three-year letterwinner at near , was an all-section, all-county, and all-district selection as a senior. A 6-2 defender, he led the Beadling Soccer Club to a pair of Pennsylvania West State Championships and earned the SHASDA Award for most improved GPA through four years of high school The son of Mick and Shelly Hnat, he plans to major in biomechanics.

Rosales was a two-time Colorado Player of the Year and an NSCAA/adidas All-American as a senior at in , where he led his prep squad to a pair of state championships and a second-place finish. The 6-1 goalkeeper held a 44-10-6 record in three seasons as a starter and was a three-time first team all-conference and all-state selection. He led Real Colorado to state and regional club championships in 2005. The son of Jose and Vita Rosales, he is undecided on an academic major.

An NSCAA/adidas All-American as a senior at in Cleveland, Stelmak was named Northeast Ohio Division I Player of the Year, Conference Player of the Year, first team All-Ohio, and first team NSCAA/adidas All-Midwest as a senior. Stelmak scored 37 goals and added 29 assists during his prep career and was named a Northeast Ohio Prime-Time Player by Rise Magazine. The 5-11 forward/midfielder participated in the Super-Y League and the Ohio Olympic Development Program. The son of Ron and Cindy Stelmak, he plans to major in business.

A first team NJCAA All-American and two-year starter at , Scott Stockum scored 27 goals and added 32 assists as in his two seasons. The 6-1 forward is the third Cincinnati State attacker to join the Bearcats in last three seasons, following Omar Cummings (2005), who went on to earn NSCAA/adidas All-American honors with the Bearcats in 2006, and Patrick Baxter (2006). A 2005 graduate of , Stockum earned three varsity letters and led the Greater Miami Conference in goals (13) and assists (nine) as a senior. The son of Rick and Debbie Stockum, he plans to major in business.

A three-year letterwinner at , Telting led the Eagles to a league and city championship and a ninth-place state finish as a sophomore. The 5-8 forward/midfielder helped his prep squad to a 42-8-5 record during his three years of action and was a two-time first team all-conference selection, as well as a third team all-state honoree as a senior. Telting recorded 25 goals and 21 assists for 71 career points, ending his prep career ranked fourth in school history in assists and 10th in points. He played for two-time defending state cup champion Cincinnati United Premier club program. The son of Dion Telting and Craig and Johnoa Hjelmeng, he is undecided on an academic major.

"We hope to add a few more players to complete the recruiting class," Dayes stated. "With the combination of returning players and newcomers, the stage is set for us to defend our Red Division championship in 2007."

He has won state championships at the high school and club level and we feel he is one of the top goalkeepers in the `07 class."
