CINCINNATI - As the days count down to the opener on Thursday, Aug. 30 versus Southeast Missouri State, season ticket sales for University of Cincinnati football continue to reach new heights. Last night thanks to strong internet sales on www.CATSTIX.com -- the school's 24-hour, seven-day-a-week ticketing web site -- the UC Department of Athletics passed last year's season ticket total with 63 days remaining before the first game.
"This is an exciting announcement for the department and the football program," head coach Brian Kelly said, "but we know there are more fans out there looking to find BCS football right in their own back yard.
"Fans can still become a part of one of the most anticipated seasons in program history," Kelly continued. "We offer the best of both worlds ... BIG EAST football and at affordable prices."
Bearcat football fans can still order great seats by calling 1-877-CATS-TIX or going online at www.CATSTIX.com. Season ticket packages start at $60 per seat in the 1530 HOMER Bearcat Lair. The Bearcat Lair, which is located above the north endzone, includes a special edition black T-shirt and an invitation to a special preseason event with each ticket purchased.
The 2007 home football schedule will not disappoint as UC hosts the Oregon State of the PAC-10, Louisville, West Virginia, UConn and Marshall in Nippert Stadium.
