CINCINNATI---Four members of the 2006-07 University of Cincinnati women's golf team have been recognized for their academic success with inclusion on the National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA) All-American Scholar teams. Sarah Bires, Marianne Erb, Sarah Stamper and Hillery Wilson were four of the 368 collegiate golfers nationally to earn the recognition.

Bires (Martinsville, Ind./Martinsville) received her degree in elementary eduction, graduating with a 3.74 GPA. Last season, Bires wrapped up her career with a career-best average of 81.6. She tallied her best finish of the season, fifth, at the Crossriver Shootout against Northern Kentucky.

Erb (Cincinnati, Ohio/Anderson) enjoyed a successful sophomore campaign that saw her rank second on the Bearcats with an 80.3 average. A marketing major, Erb holds a 3.78 GPA. On the links, Erb finished a season-best third against NKU.

Stamper (Covington, Ky./Villa Madonna Academy) is majoring in finance and carries a 3.52 GPA. As a sophomore, Stamper became a regular in the UC line-up, posting the squad's fourth-best average of 81.3. Along with teammate Allison Mayborg, Stamper shared the individual title at the Crossriver Shootout, marking the first medalist award of her career.

Wilson (Hudson, Ohio/Hudson) has enjoyed a star-studded career on the links for the Bearcats, winning nine tournaments in three seasons. During the 2006-07 season, Wilson earned four of those titles and led the team for the third straight year with a 76.1 average. She also earned all-BIG EAST honors for the first time in her career. Wilson is also a star in the classroom, carrying a 3.50 GPA and majoring in accounting.

The criteria for earning NGCA honors for student-athletes are a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50 and participation in at least 50% of the team's competitive rounds during the academic year.
