CINCINNATI-- With the heat index registering at 100 degrees, the University of Cincinnati football went through the paces for another day at Nippert Stadium. Head coach Brian Kelly stopped practice.
"After two days of practice you want to eliminate the little mistakes, but we made them again today," said Kelly. "Fatigue affected our level of concentration."
A staple of Coach Kelly's style is attacking the opposition. The Bearcats besieged the turf in helmets and shoulder pads for the first time this preseason, while diving deeper into playbook installation.
Kelly added, "Work volume and being able to keep the pressure on for four quarters has been a concern of mine since Day One. Today we were not able to do that. It was important to me to communicate that to our football team. We have a lot of work ahead and tomorrow we have to have a better football practice."
The Bearcats return to practice on Monday. Action begins at Nippert Stadium at 3:05 p.m.
