CINCINNATI--In an attempt to create the best football game day experience in the BIG EAST Conference, the University of Cincinnati is striving to continually improve the atmosphere at Nippert Stadium and Varsity Village. Headlining events such as CATTITUDE at Varsity Village and the Bearcats Family Zone are only part of the excitement surrounding the 2007 Bearcats football season.
According to Joann Mantovani, Assistant Director of Athletics for Marketing and Fan Development, "The team at UC Athletics is constantly working to bring our fans new levels of accessibility at all Bearcats events. The 2007 promotional schedule and game day activities we have planned are just another means of bringing our fans closer to Bearcats football."
CATTITUDE at Varsity Village, the official pregame party location for all Bearcats games, and the Bearcats Family Zone, containing interactive inflatables and a family-friendly environment, will be held on Sheakley Lawn two-and-a-half hours prior to kickoff in order to entertain all Bearcats fans.
After the season opener on August 30, fans are encouraged to visit Nippert Stadium on Thursday, September 6, when the Bearcats host Oregon State on Pride Night. Pride Night brings the Queen City together and the first 5,000 Bearcats fans will receive a Bearcats Bobblehead courtesy of Mike-sell's.
Other promotions include Armed Forces and Hometown Heroes Night on August 30, when the Bearcats will pay a special tribute to the men and women who serve the city of Cincinnati and the nation. On Saturday, September 22 when UC takes on Marshall, the University of Cincinnati will be honoring the Ring of Honor inductees. Homecoming occurs on October 13 as the Bearcats entertain Louisville in the annual fight for the Keg of Nails. Fan Appreciation Night happens on November 10 when UC hosts Connecticut and the home schedule concludes with Senior Night on November 17.
