WEST HARRISON, Ind.-- The University of Cincinnati football team enjoyed the quaint confines of Higher Ground Conference and Retreat Center on Tuesday morning and then returned to the field for a two-hour practice in the afternoon. Counting down the days remaining, Cincinnati is one day away from completing another preseason camp away from campus.

"We've got one eye now toward Southeast Missouri State and one eye on the last practices left before we take a couple of days off," said Kelly. "I sensed that today. Having said that, we had a chocked full schedule today. We had some higher humidity and we had to fight the tendency to lose focus.

The Bearcats spent time preparing for the season opener while hearing rain showers pounding the rooftops of their meeting rooms. The weather that moved through the area increased the humidity in the atmosphere and made for a sticky practice.

"Anything that we do we have a plan," Kelly commented. "We felt like our kids needed a couple of extra days to get their legs back under them. The weather had nothing to do with the decision. The plan of going with the doubles on Monday was looking where our team was and what they needed for rest."

Trying to keep his squad focused, Kelly must rally the Bearcats for one final practice at Higher Ground on Wednesday before returning to campus. Practice begins at 9:15 a.m. The charter buses are set to bring the Bearcats home to Clifton at approximately 1:30 p.m.
