- The University of Cincinnati men's and women's cross country teams opened their 2007 seasons with third and second-place finishes, respectively, at the Flyer 5k, hosted by Dayton.Lilian Jelimo was the top finisher for the Bearcats, placing fourth in 18:40. UC put five runners in the top 17. Miami took the women's team title and the RedHawks' Laura Neufarth was the individual champ, crossing the line in 18:20.
Randy King was the top UC finisher in 15:47, placing 12th. John Dixon ran unattached and finished ninth in 15:40. The Bearcats had four runners in the top 18 and placed third behind Miami (Ohio) and host Dayton. Miami's Pat Socacool was the men's champ, finishing in 15:02.
The Bearcats hos their lone home meet of 2007, the Queen City Invitational, on Sept. 8 at Voice of America Park.
