OSAKA, Japan - Former University of Cincinnati standout Mary Wineberg helped the U.S. 4x400 relay team to a gold medal at the 2007 IAAF World Championships on Sunday (Sept. 2).
Wineberg ran the third leg of the championship relay, which posted a 2007 world-best time of 3:18.55. DeeDee Trotter led off, with Allyson Felix following and Sanya Richards as the anchor.
Wineberg placed eighth in the open 400 meters earlier this week.
It was the second medal for a former Cincinnati Bearcat at the World Championships, as hurdler David Payne took home the bronze in the 110 hurdles on Friday.
