PROVIDENCE, R.I.---For the second straight week, the BIG EAST has honored a University of Cincinnati volleyball player as freshman setter Annie Fesl (Arlington Heights, Ill./John Hersey) has been tabbed the league's rookie of the week. Fesl received the accolade after helping the Bearcats to a pair of wins and posting a career-best performance in another contest.

In three matches this week, Fesl averaged 13.09 assists, 1.55 digs and 0.91 blocks per game, while pacing a Bearcat offense that hit .309. In a five-game defeat against TCU, Fesl posted her second double-double of the year, handing out a career-high 69 assists and adding 10 digs, along with a personal-best five blocks. Fesl tacked on 38 and 37 assists in three-game wins over Morehead State and Maine, respectively.

Nevitt averaged 3.82 kills and 1.27 blocks per game, while hitting .364 in UC's three matches. Joining Nevitt on the honor roll was Fesl's older sister, Megan, a sophomore outside hitter at Notre Dame.

The Bearcats continue a six-match road swing tomorrow night, facing local rival Dayton at 7 p.m. This weekend, UC heads to Milwaukee, Wis. to take part in Wisconsin-Milwaukee's Panther Invitational. Cincinnati will face Bradley, the host Panthers and Virginia Tech as part of the event.
