CINCINNATI-- After posting an impressive 34-3 win over Oregon State last Thursday, the University of Cincinnati football team has received votes from the weekly national pollsters. It marks the first time that Cincinnati has been considered for national rankings since the close of the 1997 season.

In the midst of a five-game winning streak, the Bearcats (2-0) tallied a pair of votes in the USA Today/ESPN Coaches' poll and 12 markers from the Associated Press voters. Their current five-game win streak is the program's longest since the 1993 campaign.

Cincinnati returns to action this Saturday when it travels to Miami (OH) (1-1) for the 112th edition of the Battle for the Victory Bell. Kickoff is scheduled for Noon on ESPN Regional television.
