DAYTON, Ohio - The University of Cincinnati women's soccer team dropped its second straight match, falling 2-1 at Wright State on Sunday evening (Sept. 16) at Alumni Field. The Bearcats dropped to 2-3-1 with the loss, while Wright State improved to 5-2-0 with the victory.
Erin MacDonald (St. Catharine's, Ontario/West Park Secondary) got the Bearcats on the board first, heading home a cross from Lindsey Noteboom (Hurst, TX/Birdville) for her second goal of the season. Noteboom picked up her second assist on the year.
Wright State got a goal just before halftime to tie the match heading into the break.
In the second half, the team's played evenly, but Maggie Mattioda finished a run through the Cincinnati defense with her first goal of the year to give WSU the win.
UC sophomore keeper Andrea Kaminski (Noblesville, IN/Noblesville) made three saves, as did WSU goalie Meghan Hackerson.
The Bearcats have dropped each of their three road tilts this season.
UC returns to Gettler Stadium and opens BIG EAST play against rival Louisville on Sept. 21. The first of a doubleheader with the men's team, the Bearcats and Cardinals are set to kick off at 5:30 p.m.
