CINCINNATI, OH - The countdown to the tip-off of the 2007-08 basketball season is underway as head men's basketball coach Mick Cronin and his staff are set to begin practice on Friday, October 12. The second-year coach and his team will be active in the Greater Cincinnati Community over the next few weeks, meeting and greeting fans at a schedule of events that are open to the public.
"Cincinnati Basketball fans are passionate about the Bearcats and it is always a great time to get out in the community and have the chance to meet the UC faithful" says second-year head coach Mick Cronin. "I am looking forward to each of these events around the town and getting our fans ready for what will be another exciting season of basketball."
The first Bearcat Caravan event is set for Thursday, September 27 when Coach Cronin will be at the Original Montgomery Inn on Montgomery Rd. Similar functions will be held on Monday, October 1 at the Salem Gardens in Anderson, Ohio and on Wednesday, October 10 at the Take 5 Bar and Grill.
A ll three Bearcat Caravan events will run from 6:30-9 p.m. and are free and open to the public.
Practice schedule permitting, members of the UC men's basketball team and Coach Cronin will also be a part of CATTITUDE AT VARSITY VILLAGE festivities in conjunction with UC's Homecoming 2008. Members of the coaching staff and team will be a part of the FAMILY ZONE on Sheakley Lawn and will play cornhole with fans in CATTITUDE at Marge Schott Stadium prior to the football game against Louisville.
