CINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati Department of Athletics and the football program will celebrate 119 seasons of football by honoring the charter class of the Ring of Honor this Saturday, Sept. 22 during a pregame ceremony on the field at Nippert Stadium. Kickoff for the game is slated for 7:30 p.m.

The charter class is comprised of 13 former UC greats whose names and numbers will grace the stadium fascia between the lower and upper decks of the east side of Nippert opposite the press box. The members of the charter class are as follows:

No. 12 Greg Cook (1966-68) was a second-team all-American in 1968 who rewrote UC's passing and total offense records during his career

No. 62 Dick Goist (1951-54) was a two-time honorable mention all-American halfback

No. 8 Gino Guidugli (2001-04) broke all of the single season and career passing and total offense records while leading UC to three bowl games

No. 5 Tom Marvaso (1973-75) was named a first-team all-American in 1975 and started three years at safety

No. 8 Danny McCoin (1984-87) earned honorable mention all-America plaudits in 1986 and broke the UC career passing and total offense records by the conclusion of his career

No. 16 Jacky Lee (1957-59) was the most prolific passer in UC history at the time of his graduation, Lee was a two-time all-Missouri Valley Conference quarterback

No. 88 Jim O'Brien (1967-69) earned honorable mention all-America honors as a kicker and wide receiver in 1968 and 1969 and led the nation in scoring in 1968

No. 27 Tom O'Malley (1947-49) led the nation in passing yards in 1949

No. 28 Gene Rossi (1950-52) twice earned honorable mention all-America honors at quarterback

No. 16 Jonathan Ruffin (1999-02), a consensus all-American and the Lou Groza Award recipient as college football's top kicker in 2000

No. 29 Bill Shalosky (1950-52) was an honorable mention guard in 1952

No. 30 Reggie Taylor (1983-86) was a three-time honorable mention all-American at running back for UC and is the school's all-time career rushing leader

No. 30 Mike Woods (1975-77) was a consensus first-team all-American in 1977

A crowd of 30,000 plus is expected for Saturday's tilt with Marshall, so fans are encouraged to get their tickets ahead of time by calling the UC Athletics Ticket Office at 1-877-CATS-TIX or going online to CATSTIX.com. For easy access to UC's parking facilities, the Department of Athletics and University Police are also encouraging fans to arrive at least one hour prior to kickoff.
