ATHENS, Ohio - The University of Cincinnati cross country teams swept the team titles at the Ohio Invitational on Saturday afternoon (Sept. 22) at the Ohio University Golf Course.
The men's squad posted second-through-seventh-place finishes to bring home the title. John Dixon (Fairfield, OH/Fairfield) led the UC pack, finishing second in 25:29.50. Solomon Kessio (Mosoriot, Kenya/Kosirai), Brad Neumann (Cincinnati, OH/Sycamore), Tommy Morgan (Maineville, OH/Kings) and Rick and Randy King (North Bend, OH/St. Xavier) were the next four in order, giving UC its second straight team title.
The women were even more dominant, grabbing each of the top six spots for a perfect score of 15. Lilian Jelimo (Kapsabet, Kenya/Kapsabet Girls) was the women's individual champion, crossing the line in 17:50.80. Jill Glassmeyer (Cincinnati, OH/McAuley) was nine seconds behind, finishing second.
The Bearcats are next in action on Friday, Oct. 5 at the All-Ohio Championships in Delaware, Ohio, beginning at 2 p.m.
