NOTRE DAME, Ind. - The University of Cincinnati women's soccer team was unable to contain the potent Notre Dame attack in a 6-1 BIG EAST setback on Sunday (Sept. 30) at Alumni Field. The Bearcats are still looking for their first BIG EAST victory, dropping to 3-6-1 overall and 0-3-0 in league play. The Irish improve to 5-4-1 and 3-0 in the BIG EAST.

Five different Irish players scored in leading Notre Dame to its second straight win.

Melissa Bigg (Limehouse, Ontario/Acton) scored her fourth goal of the season in teh second half to cut Notre Dame's lead to 4-1.

The Irish added a pair of late goals by Michelle Weissenhofer to produce the final margin.

It was the highest-scoring output for Notre Dame this season and the highest-scoring opponent since a 7-1 loss to Notre Dame in the 1997 NCAA Tournament.

UC hist the road for a pair of BIG EAST matches next weekend, taking on Pittsburgh on Oct. 5 and West Virginia on Oct. 7.
