ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- The University of Cincinnati men's soccer team dropped its second straight match, 2-1, on a last-minute goal by Central Florida Friday afternoon (Sept. 7) at the Nike/TLC Plumbing & Utility Invitational. The Bearcats fall to 0-2-0 on the season, while UCF evens its mark at 1-1-0.

UC redshirt freshman Chris Thompson (New South Wales, Australia/New Castle Univ.) scored in the 85th minute, seemingly saving the match for the Bearcats. After a Matt Telting (Loveland, OH/Milford) cross, Scott Stockum (Fairfield, OH/Cincinnati State) found Thompson in front for the tying tally.

Just moments later, with less than a minute remaining in regulation, UCF's Ryan Roushandel netted his second goal of the match, flicking a James Georgeff free kick off the crossbar and in for the winning marker.

The Golden Knights took the lead in the 35th minute of action as Roushandel struck from 10 yards out.

UC freshman Miguel Rosales (Aurora, CO/Smoky Hill) earned the start in goal, his first collegiate action. The two-time Colorado High School Player of the Year posted two saves.

The Bearcats take on host No. 24 New Mexico on Sept. 9 in the final match of the Nike/TLC Plumbing & Utility Invitational. Kickoff between UC and the Lobos is set for 1p.m. MT. Log on to GoLobos.com for live stats and video of the match.
