INDIANOLA, PA - Kendall Loggins (Naperville, IL/Naperville North) scored the game winner with just 56 seconds remaining in the match, leading the University of Cincinnati women's soccer to a 2-1 double-overtime win against Pittsburgh on Friday (Oct. 5) at Founder's Field. The Bearcats earned their first BIG EAST win of the season and improved to 4-6-1 overall. Pittsburgh fell to 6-5-0 overall and 1-3-0 in conference play.
The Panthers got on the board just before halftime on an Iris Boivin goal at the 44:20 mark.
UC fought back and drew even in the 66th minute on freshman Emily Hebbeler's (Park Hills, KY/Notre Dame Academy) first career goal.
As the minutes wound down in overtime number two and the teams looking at a 1-1 draw, the Bearcats earned a free kick in the Pittsburgh zone. Kristin May (Hudson, OH/Walsh Jesuit) served the ball into the box, where it was flicked on by Melissa Bigg (Limehouse, Ontario/Acton) before Loggins put home her third goal of the season to give the Bearcats the win.
Andrea Kaminski (Noblesville, IN/Noblesville) made eight saves.
UC will take on West Virginia on Sunday, Oct. 7 at 1 p.m. in Dick Dlesk Stadium.
