IOWA CITY, Iowa---The talented tandem of senior Hillery Wilson and freshman Bambee Dela Paz are both tied for 10th place after one day of play at the Hawkeye Invitational. With identical scores of 152, the duo has helped Cincinnati hold onto fifth place in the team standings with 18 holes remaining.
Dela Paz opened the day with a round of 74, while Wilson shot a 78 in the opener. The two switched scores in the day's second round to end the day in a three-way tie for 10th place. Dela Paz and Wilson find themselves just three shots out of the top-five and seven strokes off the lead pace. Wisconsin's Katie Elliott is on top of the individual leaderboard at 145 after carding rounds of 72 and 73 on Saturday.
The team standings show Chattanooga running away from the rest of the field as it holds a 13-shot lead over Wisconsin. UTC holds the lead on the strength of three players in the top-five positions.
Play wraps up on Sunday with the final 18 holes at Finkbine Golf Course getting underway at 8 a.m. CT.
