OPENING KICK:
Cincinnati will host BIG EAST foe Seton Hall on Oct. 12 at 7 p.m. The Bearcats will look to notch their second conference win of the season. This game will open a four-match home stand for UC, all of which will be league contests. On Sunday Oct. 14, UC entertains Rutgers, scheduled for a 1 p.m. kick. The Scarlet Knights were BIG EAST Championship Runners-up last year falling, to Notre Dame in the final.
BEARCAT BITES:
Erin MacDonald leads the Bearcats with 13 points (4 G, 5 A) through 12 matches. Last year, Becky Imhoff led UC with eight points (4 G) for the entire season. Melissa Bigg (4G, 2A) and Kendall Loggins (3G, 3A) are second and third, repectively, on the team.
Seven different Bearcats have scored this season, including the first career tallies for sophomore Melissa Bigg and freshmen Logan Ballinger, Kendall Loggins and Emily Hebbeler.
Head coach Meridy Glenn picked up her 250th career victory on Aug. 31 in UC's 2-1 double overtime win against Xavier. She is 16th all-time in wins among Division I women's soccer coaches and holds a 253-181-35 overall mark.
Goalkeeper Andrea Kaminski is third in the BIG EAST in saves, turning away 63 shots in 12 games and ranks fourth in saves per game, averaging 5.25.
UC was picked to finish seventh in the National Division in the BIG EAST preseason coaches poll.
LAST TIME OUT:

The Bearcats traveled to Morgantown to take on the 22nd-ranked Mountaineers. UC, although being out shot 12-2 in the first half, went into halftime in a scoreless tie. The Cincinnati defense could only bend so far as West Virginia was able to net two goals in the second half, winning by a score of 2-0. Goalkeeper Andrea Kaminski stopped six shots on the day for the Bearcats.
SCOUTING THE PIRATES:
Goalkeeper Amanda Becker has been almost impossible to score on this season. Becker has a 0.48 goals against average, which ranks third in the BIG EAST and a .914 save percentage, second in the conference.
Seton Hall enters the match 6-4-2 and 2-2-1 in the BIG EAST.
The Pirates are led by freshmen Nicki Gross and Maddy Kill. Gross (4 G) and Kill (2G, 4A) are tied with 8 points each.
Seton Hall is coming off a tough 2-1(ot) loss at #16 Connecticut. The Pirates took the lead in the 68th mintute on a Maddy Kill shot, but were not able to hang on against the Huskies.
SCOUTING THE SCARLET KNIGHTS:
Rutgers have outshot their opponets by a total of 191-108.
Goalkeeper Erin Guthrie has had six shutouts in 13 games, tied for fourth in the league.
Rutgers enters the match 6-5-2 and 1-2-2 in the BIG EAST.
Sophmore Gina DeMaio does not shy away from taking the shot. DeMaio has taken 41 shots on the year, an average of 3.42 a game.
YOUNG BEARCATS TAKE TO THE FIELD:
Cincinnati freshmen Logan Ballinger and Kendall Loggins have seen significant time each of the first 12 matches of 2007, making an immediate impact. Ballinger scored her first career goal in the 89th minute against Xavier, knotting the score and sending the match into overtime. Loggins leads the Bearcats with 20 shots through 12 matches and is third on the team in scoring (3G ,3A). Vanessa Hardin, Emily Hebbeler, Camille Royer and Shauna Smith have each seen action early in 2007, with Hardin assisting on the game winner against Xavier. Emily Hebbeler netted her first collegieate goal in the win against Pittsburgh.
BIGG TIME:
Sophomore Melissa Bigg is tied for the team lead with four goals after her tally against Notre Dame on Sept. 30. The Ontario native has started all but one match and ranks second on the squad with ten points.
MACDONALD DOES IT ALL:
Sophmore Erin MacDonald not only leads or is tied for the team lead in almost every offensive statitical category, she also ranks in the top 10 in the BIG EAST in assists (4, t-6), assists per game (0.42, t-6), total points (13, t-5), and points per game (1.08, t-8).
UP NEXT:
Cincinnati will continue it's homestand taking on a pair of American division opponents. UC welcomes USF to Gettler Stadium on Oct. 19 for a 7 p.m. start. Marquette comes to town next to take on the Bearcats, Oct. 21 at 1 p.m, this will also be the final home game of the season for the Bearcats
