GoBearcats: You are from . What does it mean to you to be able to play in front of your hometown crowd?
I am a true Bearcat at heart. It is very special to me to play in front of my hometown crowd because while growing up, I was one of those young girls in the stands watching and hoping to be able to play on that field. I always watched the other UC sports games on TV with my family. Now, I am actually the player competing, being cheered for, and signing autographs after the game. Most importantly, my family and friends are still able to come and support me and my team and that has always meant a lot to me.
GoBearcats: The Big East is one of the best Conferences in the Country. What is it like playing against top 25 teams week in and week out?
It is definitely challenging but it forces me and my teammates to play to the best of our ability. We must always stay focused and have competitive practices so that our intensity carries over to the games. I think when we play the way we are capable of and remain consistent , each weekend will be a real battle against our opponent and it is very possible for us to continue coming out on top.
GoBearcats: You have played both in the wide forward and striker in past seasons. How have you adjusted to playing the Attacking Midfield position this season?
I feel I have adjusted well to the changing of positions and I actually prefer attacking mid now. While growing up, I played in the midfield some so it was not too hard to get back in that mind set. It fits my play better because I can distribute the ball and start the attack and I am faced up to goal more. With the team's personnel this year it was a good decision and I think I contribute to the team the most while in the attacking mid.
GoBearcats: You missed a few games end of last season with a foot injury. What did you take away from the experience of not being able to play followed by a long rehab period?
At the end of the season we just needed one more Big East point to advance to the conference tournament. We needed a win or just a tie and unfortunately did not get either. That was the worst part for me because I wanted to be able to get on that field and help the team. Having to sit out made me ever hungrier to play this season and to seek revenge on those teams we did not beat. I rehabbed for months and was able to avoid major surgery. I am very happy my foot has held up so far this season and sitting out makes me appreciate my playing time this year even more.
GoBearcats: If I gave you $200 to go to the mall right now what you buy?
Now that the weather is cooling off, I would love to get some more clothes suitable for fall. Also, I have a pet peeve of people who smell bad. I always have some type of body spray or perfume on, so I would probably stock up on some more scents from 's Secret.
GoBearcats: What was the first CD you ever bought? And, what is on you IPod right now?
Um..I think Disney's The Lion King Soundtrack haha. As for right now, my I-Pod has just about every type of music on it. However, the most listened to would be `Lil Wayne and T-Pain.
GoBearcats: If you were cooking dinner for the team what would they be eating? Also, if you could have a quest speaker who would it be.
Definitely chicken as the main course! That's my favorite. There would be plenty of food including appetizers and DESSERTS which would not need to be shared among 4 players regardless of what the coaches say =)...The guest speaker would be Ellen DeGeneres because she is hilarious. The team has this thing with watching comedians while traveling on the bus. She's great and I suggest everyone watches her "Here and Now" dvd.
GoBearcats: Who is the craziest girl on the team and why?
Kindschuh. I've seen a side of her very few people know because she was one of my roommates freshman year. She can somewhat successfully impersonate just about anyone and anything. She is also great at making up her own personalities, voices, and dance moves, too. Among her greatest are "Natalie the Turner Hall RA", her own little twist to Martin Luther King Jr., Napolean Dynamite, and 's freestyle raps.
