PROVIDENCE, RI -- After posting her first shutout of the season against USF and making a career-best and BIG EAST-leading 19 saves against Marquette, the University of Cincinnati's Andrea Kaminksi (Noblesville, IN/Noblesville) has been named the BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week.
Kaminski led the Bearcats to an undefeated weekend, shutting out USF on seven saves and posting 19 saves in UC's 1-1 draw with Marquette, which entered the match 11-2-2 on the season. Her 19 saves were the highest mark in the BIG EAST this season and were one off of the pace of the NCAA leader. The second-year starter has made 102 saves this season, which leads the BIG EAST.
Sophomore Erin MacDonald (St. Catharine's, Ontario/West Park Secondary) was tabbed as BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll choice after scoring three goals in UC's 1-0-1 weekend. MacDonald tallied a pair of goals, including the game winner, against USF on Oct. 19 and added the equalizer in UC's 1-1 draw with Marquette on Oct. 21.
The Bearcats travel to Georgetown and Villanova this weekend, controlling their own destiny in the BIG EAST National Division race. UC is in a fifth-place tie with Seton Hall and Villanova with 10 points. Georgetown is two points ahead going into the final weekend of the season.
