TAMPA, FL - The University of Cincinnati men's soccer team recovered from a 2-0 first-half deficit to force overtime, but No. 22 USF scored with four minutes left in the second overtime to claim a crucial 3-2 BIG EAST win on a soggy Wednesday (Oct. 24) night at USF Soccer Stadium.

The Bearcats (5-9-1, 3-5-1) have been snakebitten of late, dropping three of their last four matches in the final minutes or overtime. Seven of their nine losses this season have been by one goal.

"This match was very disappointing," said head coach Hylton Dayes. "The guys really competed and after battling back from two goals down and still believing, USF just made one more play than we did."

The Bulls took a 2-0 lead on goals by Andre Mittoo in the 19th minute and Tony Taylor in the 34th minute.

Kenny Anaba (Westerville, OH/Worthington Christian) got the UC comeback started with his eighth goal of the seasonn the 68th minute, snapping a scoring draught of over 300 minutes of action.

Noah Davidson (Westerville, OH/Westerville North) scored his third goal of the season off a Lionel Jackson (Southfield, MI/Birmingham Groves) corner kick in the 77th minute for the equalizer. Jackson was credited with his team-leading seventh assist of the season on the goal.

"The results aren't going in our favor right now, but we are close," Dayes continued. "We aren't going to give up."

The Bearcats return to Gettler Stadium to take on Villanova on Saturday, Oct. 27 at 7 p.m. Prior to the match, UC will honor Anaba, Patrick Baxter (Cincinnati, OH/Wyoming), Davidson, and Amir Ikner (Olathe, KS/Blue Valley West) in Senior Night Ceremonies.
