WASHINGTON, DC - The University of Cincinnati women's soccer team's chances at its first-ever BIG EAST Tournament berth took a hit with a 5-0 loss at Georgetown on a sloppy Friday (Oct. 26) afternoon at North Kehoe Field. The Bearcats fall to 6-9-2 overall and 3-6-1 in conference play. UC's 10 points are fifth in the National Division pending the outcome of several matches this weekend. The top five teams in each division make the tournament.

The Bearcats fell behind early as GU's Caitlin Durkee tallied in the first minute of play off a crossing pass from Ingrid Wells.

Georgetown added to its lead in the 14th minute when Elaina Filauro scored the first of her two goals. Toni Marie Hudson put GU up 3-0 in the 29th minute. Wells assisted on all three first-half goals for the Hoyas.

Durkee found the net again just moments into the second half and Filauro rounded out the scoring in the 69th minute.

Georgetown goalkeeper Jackie Desjardin was forced to make just two saves in posting the shutout. The Hoyas outshot the Bearcats, 16-3.

UC heads to Villanova for its final regular-season matchup. The Bearcats and Wildcats square off with a possible BIG EAST Tournament berth on the line at 1 p.m. at Villanova Soccer Stadium.
