PROVIDENCE, RI -- The University of Cincinnati's Noah Davidson (Westerville, OH/Westerville North) and Miguel Rosales (Aurora, CO/Smoky Hill) were named the BIG EAST Offensive Player and Goalkeeper of the Week, respectively, after leading the Bearcats to a pair of wins last week.
Davidson scored the game-winning goals in UC victories against No. 11 Michigan State (2-0) and Rutgers (1-0). The senior midfielder scored both goals from the penalty spot and has converted all three of his penalty kicks this season. Davidson is the second leading scorer for the Bearcats in 2007 with five goals and one assist for 11 points.
Rosales posted shutouts in each of UC's wins, making seven saves against No. 11 Michigan State and following that with three saves on the road against Rutgers. The freshman goalkeeper finished the regular season with six shutouts and a 0.85 goals against average. He has posted shutouts in each of his last three matches.
The Bearcats open the 2007 BIG EAST Tournament on Wednesday, Nov. 7, at Providence at 1 p.m. The Friars have knocked the Bearcats out of the conference tournament each of the last two seasons, with both matches taking place at UC's Gettler Stadium.
