GoBEARCATS: Now that the season is over what's next for the UC Women's Soccer Team in the offseason?
Lindsey Noteboom: Training. I think after our tough season, and not making it into the Big East Tournament, we are all ready to start working to prepare for next fall. After losing many close games, and not fully completing our ultimate goal, our team has an extra source of motivation for the offseason. Next year we want to make it into the tournament and it starts with our offseason training.
GoBEARCATS: You are just finished up your junior year here at the University of Cincinnati. What is your goal for the team next year?
LN: My goal for this team is to make it into the Big East Tournament and the NCAA Tournament. I also want to be able to compete and earn respect in the Big East Conference. This team has such great potential to achieve all of these goals and I am excited to play my senior year and hopefully accomplish those goals.
GoBEARCATS: Playing in the Big East is very competitive. What would it mean to you and this team to win a Big East Championship?
LN: I am so passionate about the game and this team that if we were to win a Big East Championship it would mean everything. We work so hard and to be able to win a Big East Championship would be incredible.
GoBEARCATS: What was your most memorable moment of this past season?
LN: My most memorable moment this past season was when we beat Xavier in double overtime and I scored the winning goal. Not only was it special because we beat our crosstown rival, it was special because it was Meridy's 250th win. After the game she gave me this huge hug and I really realized how passionate she was about the game and this team. After that game, I think it made me even more eager to win. Those types of games, and moments, are the reason that we play the game.
GoBEARCATS: We know you are from Texas. What does the phase "Don't Mess With Texas" mean to you?
LN: Haha It's a pride thing. It pretty much means what it says. If anyone talks poorly about our state I can guarantee any true Texan would have something to say back. Texas is a very prideful state and I love that I am from there.
GoBEARCATS: Who would you consider the most outgoing person on the team and why?
LN: It is hard to narrow this down to one person. I would say Erin MacDonald, "E-Mac," is the most outgoing person. She is very loud, funny, and at times very entertaining. Her freshmen year she was not nearly as outspoken as she is this year. She is a great player and I am glad that I have gotten the chance to know her more this year. One of my favorite moments with Erin is when she had broken her nose in a game and was bleeding pretty badly from it. Well, instead of just sitting and waiting for our trainer to come out on the field, she stood up with blood all over her hands from her face and wiped the blood down her legs. It was like a scene from the movie Braveheart. Obviously, nobody was laughing at the time, but now we like to remind her of her dramatic nose break.
GoBEARCATS: If Lindsey Noteboom had a theme song for her style of play on the field, what song would you pick, and why?
LN: Calling Baton Rouge by Garth Brooks. I know a majority of my teammates will laugh that I put a country song, but I really like this song. We had it on our warm up CD this fall and it was great. This song has a lot of energy and flare, and I would like to think that is how my style of play is on the field.
GoBEARCATS: If you could meet any professional athlete and ask them any question, who would you like to meet and what would you ask that person?
LN: Tony Romo. Will you marry me?
