CINCINNATI -- University of Cincinnati women's cross country standouts Lilian Jelimo (Kapsabet, Kenya/Kapsabet Girls) and Jill Glassmeyer (Cincinnati, OH/McAuley) were named to the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Great Lakes All-Region team.
Jelimo, who has led the Bearcats throughout the year, was again UC's top finisher at the 2007 Great Lakes Regional Championships, placing 14th in 21:29.53. She was just five spots and 14 seconds from advancing to the NCAA Championships.
Glassmeyer was just three seconds behind Jelimo, finishing 17th.
The pair led the Bearcats to their best-ever regional finish - sixth place out of 30 teams. The squad was ranked 13th going into the meet.
All region honors are given to an athlete who finishes in the top 25 at their respective regional meet and whose team is a member of the USTFCCCA.
