Cummings Scores First Professional Goal

MEXICO CITY, Mexico -- Former University of Cincinnati soccer standout Omar Cummings, a rookie with the Colorado Rapids of the MLS, scored his first professional goal in Colorado's 2-2 exhibition draw against Mexican First Division club Cruz Azul on Feb. 26.

Cummings, an All-American forward at UC, scored in the 50th minute to give the Rapids a 2-1 lead.

The native was drafted in the third round of the 2007 MLS SuperDraft in January.
