CINCINNATI -- Head coach Brian Kelly and the University of Cincinnati football team will be recognized at halftime of the men's basketball game against Pittsburgh on Saturday, Jan. 19 at 4 p.m. UC finished at No. 17 in the final Associated Press Top 25 Poll after beating Southern Mississippi 31-21 in the Papajohns.com Bowl.

With a 10-3 record, that included their third consecutive bowl championship, the Bearcats were was one of only 19 teams in the nation to record 10 or more victories during the 2007 season. The 10 wins tied a single-season record that was set in 1951. The No. 17 ranking by the AP is the highest in the university's history and marks the first time they have ever been listed in a final poll.
The Bearcats return 16 starters in 2008, including all-Americans Mike Mickens, Terrill Byrd, and Kevin Huber.
UC led the nation with 42 takeaways and 26 interceptions. Cincinnati ranked 13th in scoring defense (18.8 ppg) and 16th in scoring offense (36.3 ppg).
