, - The University of women's tennis team had its two-match winning streak snapped in its BIG EAST opener at , 6-1.
The Bearcats dropped all three matches in doubles action, but the duo of junior Elizabeth Young and senior Jennifer Keiner took their match to tie break, losing 8-7 (7-5).
In singles action, Keiner picked up 's point of the match in a close fought three-set battle. After splitting the first two sets 6-2, 6-7, Keiner took the tie break, 10-8.
The loss drops UC to 2-1 in dual action this season and 0-1 in the BIG EAST, while Syracuse wins the opener of its winter season and is 1-0 overall and in the league.
